Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for providing accurate project information and ensuring ETX German Schmear has reasonable access to the work area. Depending on the project, customers may be asked to remove personal items, decor, furniture, vehicles, outdoor equipment, or other objects near the work area before the scheduled service date.

Customers are also responsible for disclosing known issues with the project area, including loose brick, damaged stone, previous coatings, moisture problems, structural concerns, leaks, repairs, or other conditions that may affect the work.

Surface Conditions and Repairs

German Schmear is applied to existing brick or stone surfaces. ETX German Schmear may be able to work around certain imperfections, but we are not responsible for pre-existing damage, structural issues, loose masonry, hidden moisture problems, failing mortar, prior paint or coating failure, or defects that existed before our work began.

Unless separately agreed in writing, ETX German Schmear does not provide major masonry repairs, structural repairs, waterproofing, mold remediation, or replacement of broken or missing brick or stone.

Project Results

German Schmear is an artistic and hand-applied finish. While we work carefully to match your selected style and desired coverage level, variations in texture, color, coverage, and final appearance are part of the nature of the process.
